I’ve read an article today on CNN about plastics. According to Wikipedia, plastic is the general term for a wide range of synthetic or semisynthetic polymerization products. We use plastic to store our foods, transports our goods and brush our teeth and many more. In short, it's everywhere, sustaining our way of life to the extent that we struggle to imagine life without it. But did you guys imagine how many plastics we used annually? According to CNN [Hong Kong China], we now consume around 100 million tons of plastic annually, compared to five million tons in the 1950s.
We need to find ways on how to lessen the use of plastic. Using this stuff will not only harm us but also our environment. If we keep on using plastic our health will be in danger. Example of this is using water bottles, plastics bags and food containers-has found that after repeated use it may release a compound –di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate- that is suspected human carcinogen - known to cause cancer.
